agree! i need to feel what the artist did so i can apply based on his feel, then what i feel... feel feel feel fill hehe

ayoko naman din ng puro diskarte ko lang, kasi dun ako natututo...

Exactly, i get to learn a lot from doing that, though sometimes its really frustrating when a piece is so technically demanding it takes you a long time to finish it before finally doing your own revision.

that's why i love playing incubus songs (well some of their not so technical stuff when it comes to modulations)  :lol:
i think they are both technical and open to improvisation when it comes to playing live... stellar is a great song to exercise tempo and bending, while anna molly can make your strumming mushy if not executed very well...

of course PG was great, but Kotzen is great too, he played the same piece his own way without making it sound compromised.

ok lang naman kung mag-cover pero mahirap kung wala ka talagang idea...ang ginagawa ko mag-tatanong ako sa keyboard player ok kung sino yung may alam sa bandang kasama ko kagaya nung nag-session ako sa isang showband nitong nakaraan. handa naman kami ng 20 songs puro cover tapos may mga reserve kaming mga kanta sa soul, love songs, etc. medyo mahirap pag request na ng audience niyo hindi kasi pwedeng tanggihan minsan. that time i ask our keyboard player kung alam niya. buti alam niya yung mga song request nung tao, ako naman tanong ko agad kung anong key yung kanta..tapos sa guitar solo's na nag-play safe lang ako ginamit ko yung pentatonic scale hehehe..dun sa ibang mga kanta poste-poste lang dun sa iba nag-improvise na ako base dun sa key nung kanta.  :-)
