AFAIK yes, assymetrical lang yung clipping.

I prefer the OD3 because its more transparent.

Get both. I used to have both. OD-3 was my main dirt pedal & SD-1 was my booster pedal.

meron ako od-3.  i don't like it that much.  i would like it to have more of a midrange hump.  sabi ng iba, sd-1 is kind of like a ts-9.  i'm thinking about trading my od-3 for an sd-1 or a ts-9.

If a standalone pedal, I'll pick OD3. Thick and fat sounding. I can survive kahit SS amp. But if I have a good amp or a tube amp, the SD1 is a good booster. The mid hump works well sa solo. OD3 don't have the mid hump going, which is not a bad thing, just a different thing lang.

Pansin ko lang, if you move clockwise the gain knob ng OD3, nadadagdagan pa ang volume. Nice feature. SD1 don't have it.

i like to get them both! sounds? both pedal has its own character but i prefer the SD-1 to be modded with bass and gain increase. like a low gain overdrive Marshall-esque sound.

i think you're referring to the SD1 boogsy as the asymmetrical clipping TS variant. the OD3 is closer related to the BD2 with not as harsh highs and has more minimum gain.  The OD3 and BD2 are from the Boss OD2 family while the SD1 is closer to a TS.

preference? I like them both for different applications and different rigs. If I could just get one, it would be a STOCK OD3 or a MODDED SD-1. Haha, no definitive answer.

Had both, OD3 ako. Mejo mas rugged nga lang ang tunog ng OD3 kesa sa SD1

OD3 plus EQ =  Swabeng tone. sakin un, ewan ko sa iba.
