Open ground? Nice one, Jobet.

Check your cable muna... sounds like a bad cable or possibly one side shorted to ground. Nothing wrong in getting good quality cable to begin with, kahit mahal ng konti.

i agree. sounds like shoddy cable insulation might be the culprit.

@BAMF

 :-D Sir, magmumukha akong asong nakatali  :-D

@Sir KitC & sir abyssinianson

:oops:

Actually the problem is something that almost everyone in the Philippines has.

We don't have a ground connection on our power plugs (the third lug).

I'm starting to get irritated with some noise I'm getting as well. I think I'll have a 5-foot copper or aluminum rod driven into the ground and wire this to my "studio mains". That way, all my equipment chassis will have an earth ground.

tested my mic (and the cord) in audiophile and behringer ali mall. works fine. it seems my behringer mixer is the culprit afterall, the xlr jacks when running on phantom/battery power seem to be grounded. ipapa-diagnose ko sa behringer kung yun nga ang sira. sana hindi mahal. kung hindi baka bumili na lang ako nung peavey mixers na may firewire na. :oops:

I was joking, really.

The actual spelling for the mic is Rödes (alt+0246 to get that "ö" character). I was gassing for the M3 myself when it came out... good all-around mic from what I've read so far.

Rhodes usually refers to an electric piano developed by Harold Rhodes (that good ol' EP sometimes called Fender Rhodes) , while M3 happens to be one of the current Korg keyboard synths.

THAT's why I was joking about moving the thread.
