Best Speakers for Drum Practice? [Help / Tips]
« on: January 19, 2010, 01:35:55 PM »
Hello everyone, i've been thinking of buying a speaker for drum cover practices. Please feel free to suggest.

I'm not satisfied with my current speakers(Logitech x-240), malakas siya sa malakas, pero hindi ko na siya madinig pagpumapalo na ko. Ayaw ko na din kasing magpractice w/ earphones on.

Currently i'm thinking of buying a 5.1 speaker from altec lansing.

Thanks in Advance!  :lol:

It depends sa budget Mo dude..

kung kaya Mo naman kumuha ng powered speakers Like B3 U8a or U10a.. go for it.. waLa kang sisi sa tunog at Lakas.. you just need some connectors para ma hook mo yung sound source(ipod, mp3, computer, discman, walkman) mo..

i hope this helps! peace!

some things to consider:
- bat ka bibili ng 5.1? at san mo ikakabit? kasi kung sa computer mo ikakabit, kung pang music lang, sayang yung center speaker kasi at most yung 4 surround speakers lang pwede mong gamitin for music (mp3's are encoded in stereo). pero kung ikakabit mo siya sa mp3 player... alam mo namang 3 yung 3.5mm jacks ng 5.1 speakers diba?

- if you're going to buy speakers, consider its output power. kung entry-level lang rin yung bibilhin mo kahit 5.1 pa yan e hindi mo parin maririnig kung gagamitin mo for practice.

- kung gusto mo talaga ng computer speakers para sa practice mo, the logitech z-5300 might be a better choice. your neighbors will think you're an a-hole, but at least you'll be able to hear your music while playing.

- or... just get good isolation earbuds. the average person usually considers anything over 1k for earphones overkill, i don't get that. how can anyone enjoy music with those crappy china made earbuds. anyway... i use the creative ep-630 PhP 1,300 available at electroworld last i checked. it's exactly the same as the entry-level sennheiser isolation buds since they come from the same factory but at a fraction of the price. i've been using these since 2005 and they're pretty durable even though i've gone through 3 pairs already. but that's my fault since i don't take good care of things.

Salamat sa reply mga boss!

As of now i'm practicing via earphones, using sony's fontopia(better than stock ipod apple earphones in terms on treble and bass, best part mas mura pa http://www.sony.com.ph/product/mdr-e931lp for more info)

@metalmuhlisha - You have a point regarding the 5.1, but its not only for practice though. Syempre naglalaro at nanonood din naman ako ng movies. Ok ba yung z-5300? Kasi parang nadala na ko sa logitech eh, since i've already used one of their products.

@mimboo
tbh, wala akong z-5300 so i can't really comment on it. it would be my first choice though. my only logitech peripheral is the mx518 gaming mouse. most mice last about a year on average-- i've been using mine since 2005, lahat ng buttons ok parin, and i was a really heavy gamer back in the mid-2000's. maingat lang talaga ako sa gamit.

in general maganda naman ang build quality ng logitech products, i consider them one of my trusted brands. at may warranty naman e. check newegg.com for user comments and google for reviews. :)

kung gusto mo talaga ng 5.1, edi go. i think may adapter naman para dun sa 3 jacks ng 5.1 para magamit mo siya sa mp3 players.

@metalmulisha

I do like the quality of Logitech products, specially their mouse and keyboards (i've been using/recommending them for more than 6years) that is why i bought my logitech speakers. That said, i'm not that "too" disappointed. Maganda din tunog nya, pero not for drumming practice i guess.

Thanks for all the replies!
