one thing taht atract me sa cubase 5 is yung variaudio at pitch corect
Pro tools has the same... they call it elastic audio.
I like cubase. I cut my teeth mixing with Cubase SL2 but I liked Sonar's midi editing better. A lot of people slag Sonar because of it's user interface, but when Cubase was having timing problems with SL2/SX2 and SX3, Sonar's midi timing was spot on.
Pro tools was a different beast when I first encountered it. Purely audio recording and editing, but it did it very well. With PT8, they finally improved midi, although I have yet to personally experience it.
If you don't do midi, I would think Pro Tools is better for you especially with it's compatibility with PT HD systems. It also makes a good audio post platform, although having done both with Cubase and Sonar, the playing field is somewhat level with most aspects of DAW software today.
