What about DruM mics?
« on: January 11, 2010, 08:15:16 PM »
May nagsabi sakin na microphones are not created equal.  Meron for vocals, back-up vocals, instrument mics, mics for amps, choir mics, etc. Sa drums naman, pakishare ang drum mics you usuali use for the hi-hats, toms, snare at kick. Tnx.

yes 'mics are not created equal'.

there will be (and should be) a specific drum mic for every part of a drum set.  you should never interchange them with one another. below is a basic structure of a drum set that you should take into consideration whenever you mic your drums. doing shortcuts will spell disaster in your over-all mix.

    * Kick Drum
    * Snare Drums
    * Rack/Floor Toms
    * Percussion
    * Overhead
    * Cymbals

sa snare bumili ako ng isa pang SM57.

Yes not all mics are created equal, but the best thing I can suggest kung gusto mo talaga ng magandang sound, read and read reviews.
Even drum mics are not created equal. May brands na maganda ung ginawang pang toms, snare, pero di kagandahan ung pang Kick nila. Mas ok if you'll buy separately, but you review them muna on your taste.

We use Sennheiser e604 for snares, toms... Shure Beta 52 for Kick, and AKG C3000 for over heads.

Im using CAD Pro 7 Drum mic kit, over all clear and transparent ang sound nya, i also have 2 SM 57's i use it for snare top and bottom and behringer C-1 for hi-hats. .Try mo din D series ng Audix ok din sound nun and ok din ang reviews, i think JB music store is carrying Audix now. . .
