Best Music Notation Software for Choral/Choir Music Sheets
« on: February 20, 2010, 01:30:09 PM »
Mga sir... matanong ko lang po.

Sino po dito ang gumagamit ng musical notation software?
Yung tipong pang-encode ng mga pyesa, na preferably may playback?

I'm sure most of you are familiar with Guitar Pro and Finale, and so far yun pa lang naman nagagamit ko (not to mention Noteworthy)
So nag-eencode po kasi ako ng mga vocal score para sa choir.

Gusto ko sana gamitin yung Guitar Pro kasi uber sanay na ako sa maganda niyang interface.

ang kaso

=> hindi pwede maglagay ng two notes on the same measure on the same beat (unless diff instrument)
=> walang layout na pang choir (SATB)
=> lacks support for classical terms (rit., da capo, 1st and 2nd endings, etc.)
=> unable to put multiple lyrics on multiple tracks
=> wth basta kaya nga Guitar Pro dahil pang instrumentalists or what.

sa Finale naman,

=> uber complicated user interface and poor choice of keyboard shortcuts
=> hindi marunong magbilang ng beats in a measure (unlike sa Guitar Pro)
=> nag iinsert ng random rests after copy paste
=> pinapagdrawing pa ako ng lines para makagawa ng 1st and 2nd endings
=> wtf playback (no playback during input)
=> two notes are tied pero pag playback hindi naka-tie

ASAR!!

simply speaking,

Guitar Pro
-has a good interface, very minimal bugs/issues
-lacks support for music notation for choral works

Finale has
-good features for less complicated instrument stuff
-good support for notation of choral works
-IMBA ISSUES that were overlooked na nakakabagal ng trabaho.

meron po ba kayong alam na combination ng good features of both?

salamat po ng marami.
I listen with my ears, not with my eyes.

dude, had you tried Sibelius?

http://www.sibelius.com/home/index_flash.html

it's a similar music notation like finale. im sure na may choir setting sila like SATB and an accompaniment instrument that can be entered in the same notation. usually, nasa preloaded / presets yung makikita. I use Finale for guitar and I can say both Sibelius and Finale are good pero in some points may advantage or disadvantage din sila.

May available na free downloadable demo ang Sibelius. just check their website. cheers!  :-D

salamat sa mga reply sir... :)

nagddl nako ng Sibelius. Di pa ba kayo ever nagkaproblema sa Finale?
ewan ko ba ba't nahihirapan ako dun... mas type ko talaga Guitar Pro.
