« on: July 26, 2010, 12:56:31 PM »

any good mics na for recording voice... im a rapper kasi, my studio was built for that... heheh
suggest naman po kayo ng good pero mura lang na condenser mic na pwedeng pamalit sa samson co1u ko na at least makakalessen ng noise sa sorroundings... can samson co3 do it??? need your opinion mga master... thanks!!!

Even if you switch XLR Condenser mics if you have a noisy environment, sasagap pa rin siya ng noise.  Wala sa usb o xlr iyan.  You need a quiet environment to eliminate the noise, not a mic.

opo.. i know... di naman ganun ka noisy ung set up ko.. maselan lang talaga ang tenga ko when it comes to condenser mics...
some say kasi na depende din sa condenser mic ang noise consumption... im looking for a condenser mic that can replace my usb mic and lesser noise pick up... and ang problem ko pa sa co1u ko... di ko madinig ung voice out nung nagrerecord kaya din me mag uupgrade.. ive already tried asio for all pero di pa din nag work so upgrade ko nalang ung studio for better...
i know naman na madami ng naka experience nito... i just need help what kind of model ng cheap mic ang dependable pag dating sa less pick up ng noise sa environment...
thanks!!!

Are you using a laptop to record with? If so, the power brick is usually the problem. When recording using the mic, try using battery power during those times.

Huwag ka na mag condenser mic.  Try mo SM57 or SM58.  Lesser noise masasagap niyan.

The C01U takes it's power from the usb bus. Are you using a generic power supply for your desktop? These are notoriously noisy. It's sometimes better to use an interface with XLR inputs since these have common mode noise rejection. Before buying a new interface, check your PSU first.

No. There are ways to minimize ambient noise, and one way is to use lapel mics or shotgun mics when doing location shoots.

Another technique involves close miking as well as positioning so that the null point of the mic is towards the noise source. It still won't guarantee that the mic will not capture ambient noise, especially if you put high gain on the mic. Neither an SM57/58 or even a hypercardioid condenser will eliminate noise if your recording location is noisy. If you are recording a live band, bleed is always an ever present problem that can be minimized (but not eliminated) by proper mic positioning and gain structuring.

Di rin.  Walang kinalaman yung usb or xlr connection dito.  Try recording with an SM57/SM58.  Maski hiram ka na lang muna.

First of all, what kind of noise is the mic picking up? People talking in the background? The dog barking or the muffled roar of a tricycle? There's a reason why people record vocals in soundbooths... isolation. It's also another reason why some people do vocal takes at night (but make sure your neighbors don't complain).

You can fashion your own 'soundbooth' by being a little bit creative, although it may require quite a bit of foam and a bit of space to prevent that closed-in feeling. Google 'gobos' if you want to DIY your own "soundproofing" system.
