HELP me turn my PC into a decent HTPC!

Hi guys,

Please give me some suggestions on how can I turn my PC into a decent HTPC

Here’s what I have so far:
Proc      - AMD Athlon II x2 250 3ghz
Mobo      - ECS Geforce 6100PM-M2
Ram      - DDR2 2GIG Apacer 800mhz
HD      - 500gb SEAGATE 7200RPM
VGA      - 512mb INNO3D 9600gt DDR3
Opt Drive   - Samsung SH S223B DVD Writer SATA
Casing   - Regular casing lang with Generic PSU
Monitor   – Waiting for the restock of LG Scarlet

With that specs, suggest lang po kayo kung ano pa yung mga kailangan ko palitan? Or idagdag?
Suggest nyo na din kung anong brand ang the best! (bang for the buck)

you might have to change the board to another with a HDMI connector and HD audio output.
unless your video card already has a HDMI connector and also an HD audio header. if it does not have an audio header then try and see if the motherboard audio is HD.

well im also planning on setting up my own HTPC

the plan is to get probably just a single core procy..something like AMD Sempron if they can handle rendering HD images...

then imma get a decent mobo with built in HDMI video card and a 7.1 channel speaker out..optical out would be fine too..

1 gig of ram is good enough..

a linux OS

as for the HDD, i think 500GB is too much..kuha na lang ako 250GB and then hintay ako ng murang Bluray ROM drive..

sir bka need mo accessories sound activated module para sumunod sa sounds ung lights ng pc mo. pero balik tayo sa post mo cguro mag upgrade ka rin ng casing... suggest ko lancool pc- k56 around 2k more or less cguro. dagdag looks nah dagdag performance sa cooling ng pc mo. hirs my contact no. 09229832353

hey sorry late na late na itong reply hahaha

kung bibili ka ng video card, di mo na kelangan ng mobo na may onboard video..mas maganda kung may HDMI out yang video card mo dahil dyan mo isasaksak yung lcd tv mo..kung di ka naman masyado maarte sa sound, makakaperform ng maayos ang mga onboard sound card ng motherboard mo..sa speaker mo na lang banatan..
