Frustrated Guitarist looking for Advice

believe in what you do kasi madaming tao ang maniniwala sa kakayahan mo.

in a gig wherein lets say, 20 people, 10 will hate your music, 5 will say its ok, 3 will say your good, while 2 will say your awesome.

i have realized before that music is not to impress but to have the grandest experience in our lives (lalim no)

just believe in what you do, im sure way back you suck big time, but 4 years is so tender, how awesome it is to tell everybody (even if your old),

piliin mo ang music na pinakikinggan mo, believe me kasi actually your playing will reflect the type of music that your listening to. for example  you wanna play the blues then listen to the music of some great blues players and listen ALOT. believe me.  at ang pinaka magandang training sa lahat ay ang pag tugtog sa banda kasi dyan mo matututunan ang lahat ng essentials sa pagtutog. may mga bagay kasi na di mo matututunan kung praktis ka lng na praktis. trust me on this dude

tanong ko lang alam mo na ba talaga ang scales like Major Scale?

Kalimitan sa mga gitarista kapag tinatanong mo marunong kana bang mag scale ang sagot Oo or Hindi at ung Oo na sumagot di naman talaga naintindihan kung ano ang scale pano gamitin! Kung di mo talaga alam gamitin ang scales mahirap nga yang problema mo mahirap kasi ung puro nood lang ng mga tutorials vidz pero ang totoo di mo naman naintindihan kung ano un at para saan mo gagamitin... kasi kung di mo talaga alam ang scale di ka magkakaroon ng confident tumugtog dahil di mo alam kung tama ba or mali ang ginagawa mo...

at kung sinasabi mo marunong kana talaga magscale siguro magfocus ka sa blues scales at kelangan mo ng puso sa pagtugtog...

Mga sir, 4 years na po akong nag-gigitara at medyo naliligaw na po ako. Di ko na kasi alam kung ano ng susunod na gagawin or aaralin. So far madami-dami na din po akong natutunan tulad ng scales, improvisation at different styles ng pag gigitara. Pero kahit na natutunan ko na tong mga to, feeling ko hindi pa din ako gumagaling at medyo sloppy pa din ako tumugtog. Dati po kasi naniniwala ako na SHREDDING ang pinakamataas na style ng pag-gigitara, at kapag mabilis ang kamay mo magaling ka na. Pero lately narealize ko na hindi pala, mas importante na malinis at expressionful ang pagdedeliver ng notes. Hindi pala bilis ang sukatan ng pagiging magaling. Ano po bang mai-aadvice nyo sa akin? Maraming salamat po sa mga sasagot.

At isa pa po na problem ko ay kapag tumutugtog sa harap ng mga tao. Naninigas po kasi yung mga kamay ko kapag tumutugtog na, para akong nanginginig. Hindi ako makatugtog ng maayos tulad ng pag nagpapractice ako. Hehe

I took me 18 years of playing to realize that guitarists need to listen to what they are hearing in their head. It's a synthesis of all your influences...take what you really need and like about their technique. And also realize we are built differently so our abilities are all different.

One tip: practice with low gain and devoid of much effects (slight reverb lang if you cannot manage dry)...you will finetune your technique by hearing everything that comes out.  not a master but I'm comfortable with what I have...cheer up it's a guitar not a flute, it has its own quirks unlike any other instrument. Kaya nga all famous guitarists call their guitars by a name.
