horn loaded or ported subs

Hi mga sirs,

ano po ma rerecommend nyo na subs? should i go horn loaded or ported na lng

- my events are usually sa hotels and bihira ang outdoors
- truckspace is limited
- yung mga top boxes ko ay JBL MRX525 and PRX615
- and lastly should i go branded or just DIY na lng?

btw currently im using an spl mtl2 clone kaya lng sobrang bigat kaya bihira nmin madala

Reflex especially using this a lot indoor..

Since subwoofers are longwaves...it will always have a problems with walls, it doesnt matter what speakerbox configuration you use (horn loaded or Bass Reflex)...Efficiency is what that counts...Reflex cabs are less efficient than horn loaded cabs (you needed more power amp juice to kick those BR cabs)...horn loaded cabs have bigger footprint than reflex cabs (horn loaded are sometimes hard to truck-pack)...there is always a trade-off...and that is why some big hired companies have various types of speakerbox configuration in their inventory.

i suggest you make DIY on 15" subs at various designs for various setups. unless you cater to some hotels with a hall of 40x90meters ( like where i work now ), DIY at least 8 units of 18" subs.
