Should I still get a distortion pedal if my amp already has an overdrive?

trip na trip ko ung crunch nung built in overdrive niya. pero gusto ko rin minsan makuha yung 'slash tone' kasi mahilig ako sa mga GNR songs. kung bibili ba ako ng distortion pedal (shredhead) may malaking difference ba sa sound? or should i stick to the built in overdrive?

so basically gusto ko nung sound nung overdrive pero gusto ko din ng slash tone minsan

If youve got the budget go get a shredhead..langhiya 2.5k lang yata sa second hand market  GO GO GO! haha...wala naman mawawala..and of your going to gig..of course you gotta bring your gear..unless gusto mo lagi bitbitin yung amp mo..(I agree, delicious yung OD channel ng Orange)..or kung gusto mo..bili ka ng Footswitch...pero syempre mas versatile pag individual dirt pedal meron ka...

Orange na! hahaha gwapo ninyan sa kwarto mo!!! pictures ng gear mo post ka agad!!! kung makadaan ako sa music shop dito selling that 20 watt amp..Ill try it for myself..let you know what I think...

haha thanks!! medyo ibang tone ba ung shredhead pag ginamit sa orange amp kumpara dun sa OD? feeling ko ito na ang ang bibilhin ko haha.

wow, ok pala yung presyo ng shop dito..halos 5800-6000 pesos ang conversion..malaki pala yung patong ng JB..of course considering the shipping and all...

Iniisip ko pa kung iiskor ako..at mahirap maguwi at magtransport ng malalaking mga bagay..lalo na at on the go pa naman ako every now and then...

It a huge hassle..mako lalo pag uuwi na sa pinas..I tried once a 65 watt fender princeton..grabe sobrang Hassle...as iN!! yung worries mo sa flight...yung pagpack mo..paghanap ng box..yung bigat niya..arghhh...

Kaya now..I run every thing on my trusty Micro Cube..hahaha small but terrible...pero..na GAS talaga ako sa ORANGE!!!! waaaaahhh!!! mura pa dito!!!!!

Cold water buhos ko...para mawala yung GAS!

hahah oo nga ang laki ng patong yung epi les paul  ko sa states ko pinabili $500 around 20k pesos. pero yung epi les pauls sa lazer puro 30k. pero no choice ako sa amp ngayon mapipilitan akong bumili sa pinas kasi wala akong kamag anak na uuwi galing us )

yeah dito din ang epis mga 3000 yuan yung mga nice models..mga 18-21 k lang..langhiya 30k for a Qingdao,china Made Epi?!?!?! langhiya eh makakabili na ako ng Fender American standard Strat sa second hand market dito sa PM...hahaha pucha

Of course you gotta get one, parekoy. Can't get even half a Slash tone with zero distortion pedals, much less an Azagthoth tone.

for portability when it comes to gigs, yes get one... a good one... shredheads not a bad idea
if you have a car and love your OD on the Orange amp, then stick to it if it bothers you when you can't get your tone on another amp

Ok lang yan..pag jamming jamming...tsaka mo na to mafefeel pag experienced ka na..hehehe...anyway..pag nakapedals ka naman..sa clean channel ka lang naman magrerely the whole time...assuming na may dirt pedal ka na and modulations...

Pero for now..Get that orange amp..and a shred head..tapos haluan mo lang ng konting built in effects from the amp like..a slight reverb and delay...youve got a nice awesome full bodied tone to rock to na

don't worry too much about it man, go for the amp and the pedal, you won't regret getting both of them.
