HELP! Cannot decide on speaker design :-(
« on: August 20, 2013, 06:26:47 AM »
Mga master, I am planning to build a full range box loaded with 4x10" full range speaker and 4x2" tweeter. Alin sa tatlo ang tamang design? Please advise.

Thanks,

Note: all drivers are placed vertically.

Option 1: Woofer, tweeter, woofer, tweeter, woofer, tweeter, woofer, tweeter.
Option 2: Woofer, woofer, tweeter, tweeter, woofer, woofer, tweeter, tweeter.
Option 3: woofer, woofer, woofer, woofer, tweeter, tweeter, tweeter, tweeter.

Thanks,

3rd option, mas optimum ang magkakalapit and mga drivers para yung mga interference ng bawat isa ay hindi magproduce ng mga lobes and nulls. Although aus lang kapag low freq, problema yung high freq kasi yung lobes niyan.

so sir.. yung 10" kasi is full range (50Hz to 15KHz) and tweeter (2KHz---) mas ok yung 3rd? Iniisip ko kasi baka msyado na mataas yung tweeter. Ipapatong ko kasi yung box sa 2 pa na 15" rcf box..

Bro, I'm not an engineer nor an expert on speaker designs but in my experience, sound manufacturers follow a common design principle, since (as what I've read in the past) there is a science involve when it comes to designing, matching the transducers, horn types and dispersion etc.  It's not as simple as going to the drawing board and just draw out of air.

IMHO, there are alot of "built boxes" in the market right now that you can choose from.  Spare your head from such mediocrity or else you'll be spending your hard earned money for nothing. Again, just my humble opinion.

Comb Filtering ang problema sa option 1 & 2... Kakaiba ang option 3, puro low maririnig ng mga nasa baba tapos puro high maririnig ng mga sa nasa taas.

Column speakers ba mga yan?  <_<

Thanks sa mga response sir.. Mid-hi lang yung output nung mga speaker.. Yung 10" from 500Hz to 15KHz then Tweeter 2KHz to 16KHz... Mainly boses lang palalabasin sa kanila no low/bass..
