yes saw Pawn Stars too. That's the white Mary Ford SG (Mary Ford was Les Paul's wife, who also played guitar alongside him). Short recap of this famous tale: the original Gibson 'Burst Les Paul Standard single cutaway design was not doing well in the market then. In fact only about 1,600+ original sunburst LPs were made from 1958-1960 then they totally discontinued production due to poor sales. Guitar afficionados in the 60's were more keen on Fender's double cutaway design, the Stratocaster, which were doin better in the market. So in 1961, Gibson came out with their own double cutaway model, the SG, to compete with the Strat. The guitar initially continued to carry the Les Paul name (called the Les Paul guitar or Les Paul Custom). But Mr. Les Paul, the man, didn't like the design and demanded Gibson to drop his name from the guitar (which in the first place, he did not have any input in its design). So Gibson drop the name Les Paul, and renamed it simply the SG (for Solid Guitar).
(Gibson resurrected the original LP Standard single cutaway design in 1968 by popular demand to become the most iconic electric rock guitar in history - thanks to Clapton, Page, Bloomfield, Peter Green...)
