Can you hook up Active Speakers to a Powered Mixer?

Is this ideal?  What would be an ideal set up for a live band setting?

its not ideal, but if you have both and need to make it work either take a line signal from the mixer before it hits the poweramp section of it or get a DI Box that has a pad switch of -40 patch it to the speaker out of the powered mixer then the XLR side to your powered speaker.

yes..... use the main outputs of your mixer not the powered outputs/speaker outs.  that's the main purpose of the main outputs so u can use powered speakers or power amp to ur mixer.

To the TS: they're all correct. If you need further help take a snapshot or two of your powered mixer and back of your active speaker so we can show where the connections can be done.
