HELP: I/O
« on: March 29, 2014, 05:20:23 PM »
Help please...
I wanted to record my guitar session kasi to my computer
I really have some questions...

I have this Behringer Xenyx 802 Mixer, I used it before for vocals lang, then lately I wanted to try my guitar out.
On one Channel Strip it has a XLR input and a Line-in input, my question is...

Is the Line-in good to go para sa guitar ko?
Or do I really need to get a DI to convert it into XLR...
Kasi honestly I tried it sa Line-in input before, wla akong nkkuhang sound,
idk if because hindi gumagana dun or my cables are just bad, coz' my cables are kinda old na.

I hope to get some answers, thanks po. :)

ONE LOVE
GOOD VIBES

Here's the picture of the mixer btw.

You need a D.I.
or
If you have a multi-fx, pwede yun sa line-in.

May usb ang mixer mo? Kung acoustic with active preamp, puedeng plug to line in. Pag electric plugged to line in mahina yan, you need an amp emulator.

Bakit hindi sya pwede sa line-in?
It's that one thing that confuses me.
It's a 1/4" anyway...

The output from a passive pickup is too low for your mixer. I tried that and I didn't like the tone. What is your guitar and how do you connect to the pc?

Just directly
Guitar (Line-in) > Mixer > Interface > PC > DAW = No Sound

But I did something like

Guitar > Interface (Instrument Input) > PC > DAW = Such latency

That's why I wanted to directly input it to the mixer, to avoid latency,
I guess if it's in the mixer it'll be like the same as a mic when it comes to latency...

The mixer won't do anything to the latency.

What is your interface? you may need to install it's ASIO driver.

Advice ko sir get a dedicated audio interface for your PC if you want to record guitar.

Download ka din ASIO if you already have the interface. Makakatulong un sa latency.
