It's been 10 years since i joined this forum 19 lang ako 2004 wahahaha. Anyway I sold all my gear the previous year(tube amps, effects, guitars) and this year sold off my last guitar a fender custom shop 56 limited ed strat which i miss so much. Sold it kasi wala nang band and playing on your own is kind of different from jamming. No more time so i spent it on filmmaking gear and sideshow statues and hot toys figures haha.

Anyway kinda been itching to get back and my girlfriend is going to Japan tomorrow. She'll be staying in Tokyo lang. I know about Ochanomizu pero baka may insider info kayo? or could I order in ishibashi online for her kasi medyo wala siya alam. I just wrote in a paper fender japan strat - any year reissue... new or 2nd hand. tapos 1958,1959,1960 spec Japan Copy Les Paul - Greco,Orville,Orville by Gibson,Tokai

anyone help me?  :)

where in tokyo? for more choices, tell her to go to ochanomizu. meron din mga shops sa shinjuku, shibuya, etc but ochanomizu still has the largest concentration of music stores in tokyo.

got my Gibson chambered R8 in Ikebe store in Osaka. nearby is Ishibashi shop. but there are bigger guitar stores in Tokyo, particularly in Shibuya. magkakatabi lang sila (ishibashi, ikebe... and several others). there are a lot in Shibuya. There's another big shop in Shinsaibashi, also in Tokyo called Kurosawa gakki, one of my favorite shop. But there are a hundred more around Tokyo, you just have to check it out. Personally, Japan is guitar haven for me,  more than SG or HK and even US. Talagang malulula ka coz aside from the usual US brand guitars and gears, Japan is flooded with, of course, their own popular MIJ brand guitars and stuffs. As for my CR8, i saw it online, hunted it down in Osaka and personally picked it up from the shelf in Ikebe Gakki store.

mind if i ask how much you bought the r8? is it a flame one?

i thought i'd buy japan guitars in japan kasi maybe 2nd hand market in us is better for us guitars since it's domestic and no shipping. same thing with marshalls in the UK?

pero if there is maybe 100k php or in the range na r8 or r9 why not? hehe

my CR8 has flame. in fact most newer R8s have subtle flames, much like 59ri na rin sila. Prices for Custom Shops (Fenders, PRS, Gibsons... etc) in Japan doesn't differ much from US, but they have wide selections. In fact Gibson Custom Shops have guitars made exclusively for Japan market only (which are better built).

as far as MIJ guitars (Tokais, Orvilles, Grecos, Epi....) ahh there are a sea of them to choose from, which makes gear hunting exciting.
