Came across this video thru ultimate-guitar. May malaking effect pala ang pick sa tone.

iba din response ng regular pick with blunt end compared to sharp ones. and the pick gauge. but it makes little difference to me in terms of sound, and more to do with the player's preference.

Oo naman. Even different gauges of the same type of pick have different tones. From experience, I get "darker" tones from thicker gauge picks. If you vary materials (plastic, metal, wood, etc.) then mas lalo pa diba.

My fingers sound best to my ears tough. :P

i get a different tone when i use my 'pudpod' picks compared to my 'pointy' picks
pero hindi ko sure kung dahil dun sa pick, kasi i prefer using yung 'pudpod' pick pag heavy rhythm
pag fingerstyle yung 'pointy'
so magkaiba talaga ng tone :D

the more comfortable you are with the pick, the more control you have with your tone

Steel - bright as fck
aluminum - a tad brighter than a still-sharp plastic one
plastic under 2mm - my kind of stuff
credit card -
legit tort - sounds great with nylons. they don't exist anymore (they shouldnt).

sharp picks - tons of attack, great for really expressive playing or shredding
worn-out picks - my kind of stuff. less edgy than new picks, plays like butter
blunt picks - warm like siopao, but thicker ones give it more beef
1 peso coin - scratchy tone for some coins. depending on technique either little or tons of attack. you tried it because of Billy Gibbons or Oji the Section Chief.

I think he sounds different because of the way he attack the strings depending on the pick size.

nice to know, ang alam ko lang kasi dati yung size o kapal ng pick eh depende lang sa preference ng player kung gusto nya makapal o manipis.
  Thanks sir.
