HELP PO MGA SER!!! (RE: RECORDING)
« on: February 12, 2007, 02:03:08 PM »
mga kapatid...nakakapagrecord na ako ng BASS (which i asked for help in my previous post) using the B2 and the HARTKE BASS ATTACK...eto naman ang problema...sa monitors okey naman ang tunog ko then sa pagrerecord okey naman ang tunog...pero pag playback na nung record ko may mga HISS at parang nagwewave yung sound ko...btw im using a CAKEWALK 05 software di ko alam anong problema eh...wala ako kasi alam sa tweaking maybe you could give me some advice...

and ang gamit ko nga palang PC (although mejo low end pa pero it will do the job):

Intel PIII 866Mhz Processor
256 RAM
ASUS MOTHERBOARD
WINDOWS XP SP1
20 + 20 GB Hardisk Drives
CREATIVE 4 Channel Soundcard

ano kaya ang problema? sa souncard? Software? or kaunting tweaking dun sa Software

advice naman po... :-D

I had the same problem not too long ago...kung di ako nagkakamali, parang may slight resonance yung bass, pag nag click ka ng isang note, parang pa-fade in ag dating, tapos hahataw ng malakas, tapos pa-fade out...

im not inducing you... pero you really need to get a sound interface. that 4 channel creative sound card is your problem. thats the same problem i had 6 years ago when i started pc recording.

it would really help if you had a soundcard or interface specifically made for recording. ok ang creative kaya lang gaya nga ng sabi ni sir bindoy eh hindi talaga siya sinadya para sa recording. :)

i also strated with creative. its really more for gamings than pro audio. "BUT" some creative soundcards are better than "SOME" M-Audio Sound cards...

If you just want to upgrade your soundcard to something that was designed for recording, get the M-Audio Audiophile 24/96. It only gives you 2 channels but if you are not recording a live band or you are not a drummer, it's one of the best ones you can get in the market. Not expensive. I've had mine for 3 years now, it's been on a PIII before and now have moved it into my P4.

Hahaha, no, nakikitulong lang with the little knowledge I have. :) I think I'm good at finding some of the least expensive solutions for things. For instance, I got a DBX compressor from someone here, he is a guitar player, plays in his basement, he had a 24 track mixer connected to his DAW when actually all he did was record his guitar.   Told me, "I'm thinking of getting rid of this mixer, would you be interested? It's overkill for me."

shop around and use what works. Yung Pro Audio na term is subjective; your sound can be as Pro as you can make it. I am a believer in tweaking until you can't tweak anymore but then you find some way to go beyond what you gear is designed to do and unconventionally use it to make music. I started with a Sanyo boom box years ago and I would play into the built-in mic and record acoustic songs on it. I thought it was great until I started visiting flea markets, garage sales, the used ads, talking to people that sold used gear; basically just keeping my eyes and ears open for ANYTHING that might catch my attention for gear that I could use in my little home studio.

Learn from other people who may not fit your genre as well. As a pianist and guitar player, I didn't think  would learn a lot from the DJ genre but I did and I got my start in production under the wing of 2 House DJs who still spin (and tour) in different clubs. Club people and dance music enthusiasts are a fickle bunch so learn from them...you never know what you might be able to apply to your particular style.

Ayos yung M-Audio 2496...if you use a mixer with it, just know how to route your input and monitoring lines so you have a good working setup to record, playback and play with levels.

If you are looking for a cheap mixer for your 24/96 get a Behringer UB802. It's perfect for the card and it even has phantom power .
