« on: February 24, 2007, 11:34:44 PM »
lets say tuning is standard, guitar is a fender strat.
THe string is 9s... do thinner strings go offtune more or easier than 10s, 11, 12s ???

i changed from 10s to 9s and that seems to be the change i noticed.

did you intonate your guitar after changing gauges? did you adjust your truss rod? those can be factors as well when you change string gauges :) but to answer your question, it shouldn't go off-tune more easily as long as your guitar is properly set up for the string gauge you're using. and never forget to stretch new strings prior to heavy use :)
