custom hardware accessories

got a problem mounting/attaching a new toy to your drumkit? want something not available in your local store or abroad? wanna have it CHEAP?

so much time in the office, i just thought id spend it more creatively so im designing hardware accessories to help me improve my drumming and make it easy bringing gear on gigs. now that i have a means to produce professional looking products, id like to share them with you guys...at a really low cost

the initial products that im coming out with are...

- drum riser / instant floor tom conversion to bass drum
- cowbell pedal attachment (gajate bracket type)
- mini snare drum adapter for use with regular stands, designed for 10" and 8" snares
- bongo tom arm
- folding drum rack frame - just buy the clamps at lazer/jb

my criteria for choosing a problem to solve is that the item must not be readily available and market price must not be below 1k. just means that i wont make clamps coz they only cost 500 bucks a pop in jb and lazer

i'll be receiving the prototype of my drum riser this saturday. pics to follow. just sooooo excited i had to post this in advance

yung folding drum rack, ano hitsura nun? parang standard drum rack? ano yung materials na gagamitin, metal pipes? plain, chrome o powdercoat?

racks will be standard 1.5" pipes made from brushed stainless steel. it will be curved for easier tom positioning

pwede powder coated, pwede chrome pero this will cost 3x estimate only

i will have the prototype for the rack by the end of the may and of course, pricing

nice idea you have here. I was just wondering if you offer custom made octobans with stand?
or if you make custom percusion holder. i have this 4 in diameter "bongo" i got which i want to incorporate in my set but i cant find a stand to hold it..

any ideas would be great!! thanks!

note..my dad said na mas maganda daw kung sa mga hard plastic fabrication daw ako magtanong..sabi nya mas magaan..masmatibay..masmadaling gawin ant mold..and less rust daw..samples of hard plastic materials nga pala, mga gulong ng skateboard.. this is partly true, skateboards are made from fiberglass and carbon fiber is more expensive than metal

acrylic octobans can be made but i would rather that you buy the stand and i can design the mounts, pm na lang

di ko pa natimbang e pero mas magaan pa sya kesa 1.5liter na coke. it will fit 16" and 18" diameter toms from 10" to 16" long. havent tried to put a 14" on it yet but i think it will still fit

this may not be the model that i will be putting out. i really want to push thru with the folding design and i'll have 3 made for sale when additional funds come in

after 1 week of testing...im not satisfied with the design.

it improved the sound of my bass drum a lot but the design is wobbly. doesnt feel solid. i noticed a few mistakes and areas for improvement so im not going to sell this riser.

back to the drawing board and the rest of the projects will be on hold until i produce version 2

below 100 each hehehe. i bought 4 for my 2 sided rack. i got a basic drum rack frame for less than 3k hehehe. why buy a 16k rack from gibraltar when you can also get this done for much less? heck i wont even try to sell this to you

check out scaffworks at del monte ave. qc. they are near the corner of araneta ave if you want to buy the clamps. as for the pipes, any good metal shop can supply and weld you 1.5" diameter pipes. just tell the scaffworks guy to sell you fixed angle clamps. there is another version of the clamp that swivels, dont buy that.

i only ask one thing, show pics of your homemade rack should you decide to follow my lead

conduit pipe ba yung ginamit mong tubing? hindi stainless steel? malaki matitpid natin kung conduit pipe lang... hehehe
