If you want to reduce the sound of your cymbals, try putting tapes underneath.  You can also try to use a paper clip on the edge or use the binder clips found in bookstores.  Choose a clip size in relation to the size of your cymbal.  Keep in mind that this not only reduces volume but also dries out some shimmer.  Your cymbal will sound a bit dry.  The real way to reduce volume without losing its character is to buy a thinner or smaller cymbal. Gastos! :-(

Hand technique and stick control might help as well. Hit the crash in moderate force rather than bashing it, then hit the ride harder.. :-D

Mahina talaga ride ko. pero ginawa ko, i tried hitting the ride with the shoulder of the stick. same dynamics na medyo umingay ng konti. tapos kung naka wood tip ka, try mo mag nylon tip.

Options ranked according to cost.  :-D

a.) Hit softly

b.) Muffle the crash
Cut the size to your liking.  :-)

c.) Buy thinner/smaller crash
