Are the sounds from MYX Live, Bandarito, MTV Diyes all LIVE MIXES?

If they are live mixes, what are the ways they mic the instruments?  What goes through the FOH?  Do they have separate AUX sends for the broadcast 2-bus recording?

I wonder, but SNL, Letterman, Conan and Leno have great live mixes for their guests.  I wonder if we can par with that soon.

The thing with some US shows is that they augment their live performances with some pre-recorded tracks (remember the Ashlee Simpson SNL fiasco?). On a few instances will the band/artist insist on a truly live performance BUT with their own engineer in tow (U2, for instance).

One thing I commonly notice about US shows is that they have a sheen or brilliance that local shows can never replicate just yet, and it's not because of boosting the highs. Those guys really know how to play with their compressors and enhancers.

For me... sana... kung paano settings sa MYX Live ganun din sa Bandarito... Paano kasi maririnig ng maayos yung guest band sa Bandarito kung sacrificed naman yung tunog nila diba?

It's just one stereo mix sent directly to the Betacam master together with the video.

After one song, everybody listens to the recorded take.  Because of time constraints, there are hardly any retakes.

@jeps, different audio people handle MYX live and Bandarito.  Source of variance na agad ito.  Another source of variance would be the musicians themselves.  Sa MYX Live, more or less mas may experience na yung tumutugtog.  Bandarito deals with newer groups kaya may hiya/kaba/takot factor pa ang mga yan.  Also di pa sila ganun at home sa TV studio, etc.  You know what I mean.

Had an experience before with Bandarito which featured WICKERMOSS )featuring bass thread regular Roger Alcantara - and they were all microphoned in.  Pero three piece lang sila and 1 vox.

We have been training the audio engineers of ABS-CBN (MIYX, news, Teleseryes, etc.)  and we have seen a lot of improvements.  Now, they more or less understand the " foundations" in audio.  The mixers for MYX Live and Bandarito vary so even the sound kinda varies.  However, we've seen a lot of improvement.  Their finals was to mix and record a live band under our supervision.  The trainors are all members of the Institute of Audio and Acoustics (IAA) and AES Philippine Section.  We are just on the second phase of the training schedule.
