Hi guys i was surfing and downloading stuffs in the net this morning then suddenly I heard a boom, parang me nag short nangamoy sunog then the screen and the whole computer just shut down. I tried to turn on the power supply but i guess the fuse is busted. I tried to connect my pc directly to the outlet and i heard a pop again from its fan at the back.

San ko kaya pedeng dalhin to huhuhu. . . nasira kaya yung processor?

sana naman hindi... you might have to replace the actual power supply of your pc, only after doing so can you find out if the rest was damaged. best thing to do is to always use a voltage regulator for your pc. you can get a replacement power supply at any pc shop, mga p500-700 lang yon. best bet : gilmore st. cor. aurora blvd.

parang nangyari na rin sakin yan nung 1st yr college ako ehehehe kakulitan ko kasi ayaw paawat ayun nung 2nd attemp ko board na ang nasira hehehehe may sumabog na power regulator sa mobo, yung parang IC na may 3 paa hehehe pumutok siya tapos may parang mga silver na powder na kumalat di na ako nag attemp na ipaayos bili na lang ulit agad ng board haha ECS lang naman kasi yung board

Check your motherboard for "bloated" capacitors. You'll know when the cylinders are disfigured in any way. This is a sign that the mobo's busted. Also, I'd steer clear of the sub-Php1000 power supplies. Go for branded PSUs (Task, Hec, Antec, Coolermaster, etc.). They might cost you 2000 bucks or higher for a 350-watt but the large input/output capacitors and beefier components make sure you get steady power at all times. A branded 350 is likely to last longer than a generic 500.

worst case would be a new mobo and processor... malamang ok pa yung hard drive pari disk drives

tama si sjon014, try investing in a better power supply pati voltage regulator. kailangan yan talaga para sa pc. you can bring your pc to gilmore to have it diagnosed and fitted for a power supply. try "dynamic" pc store. sa may likod yon, ground floor tapat ng st. paul or "gaisano" pc, whichever's cheaper

Something similar happened to me. My boyfriend plugged my PC, and a small "pop." But thankfully for me, it was only the power supply. I'll probably wail out loud if may nangyari sa mobo or processor ko.

best thing to do is to have it checked by a technician or somebody who knows how to fix pc's.
it may be the power supply only, that is damaged. iba iba ang mga atx power supplies kasi.meron 20 pin power connector, meron din 24 pin power connector with additional connectors for SATA drives kasi..

It might be the power supply kung may boom...nangyari lang sa friend ko yan just the other day...just let it check by a computer technician.

Hey thanks guys! napalitan ko na yung power supply and i-upgraded to 500w, okey na sana lahat gumana na uli yung computer ko sad thing is ala pang one hour i smell burning again guess kung ano naman ang bumigay. . . yung monitor ko naman ang bigla na lang nangamoy sunog at namatay. . . waaaah!

Ang nakakainis feb 2006 ko lang sinet-up yung compu ko, yun yung mga packaged na computer sa gilmore. . .nung nagtanong ako ng monitor aroung 3800 yata yung 15" na LG yung binigay kasi nila dati BOKA. I told them na baka naman after one year pagka-expire ng warranty tsaka naman bibigay uli yan. . . nasa gamit daw yun. . .haaay!

Sir, try to look for a different computer shop to buy other than gilmore, ganun talaga yun, maasikaso sila pag bentahan na, pero pag dumating na yung time na meron prob yung product, ang bagal gumalaw...

The LG brand is good... yung Boka... generic lang ata yun... parang disposable

... similar Boka speakers also dispose themselves after sometime!

.... i suggest... use an AVR (Automatic Voltage Regulator) ... so for any power fluctuation... like brown-outs and stuff..... you're sure na OK yung power na pumapasok sa PC mo

Yung friend ko before, sinamahan ko siya, okay naman yung monitor na nabili niya, siguro mga 3 years na yun, okay pa din...pero siguro chambahan lang din...

Tips with CRT monitors:
Lagay ka ng exaust fan sa top kung saan yung may mga butas (bandang likod)...kase it vents out yung init ng monitor, usually pag sobrang gamit ng monitor, may mga components sa loob na nasisira dahil sa init and over use. Nasiraan na din ako ng monitor dati, sawa na ako mag paayos, kaya ever since nag lagay na ako ng exaust sa monitor ko. Hope it will work for you. God bless.
