I've seen that DVD being sold at Metrowalk but didn't buy it - I'm trying to cut down on music DVD purchases because I still have a lot of these unwatched (Chick Corea and friends playing the music of Bud Powell with Roy Haynes on drums still awaits).
But Yeah, Eugene Pao is a great Hong Kong based jazz guitar player who has made some recordings in New York with likes of Jack de Johnette. To have Tots play in his Asian band is no big surprise because Tots is really a world-class player, just the best around, especially in Asia. If you want a sinewy, muscular sax sound, Tots is the man. He also plays in Japanese trumpeter Terumasa Hino's band.
One of Tots' compositions "Tiramisu" (recorded on the Buhay album) is about his stint with Hino.
