In case ako yung pinaringgan, di ko binabash ang Zildjian, sinasabi ko lang na frustrating minsan yung quality control. Lagpas na kasi sa individual "uniqueness" yung inconsistency nila e. Tama lang naman na may sariling personality ang isang cymbal... kaso hindi to the point na hindi na siya recognizable as that specific model. Bakit pa nagkaroon ng mga series at model kung di rin pala may kahit onting similarity yung tunog? Parang dati nung bumili ako ng K Dark Med Thin ko... yung nakuha ko ubod ng swabe, kaso yung iba kong nasubukan either okay lang or may parang nagdrone na overtones. With that said, ginagamit ko pa rin ang Zildjian kasi kung makahanap ka nga ng maganda, maganda talaga.

As for credibility... sa Zildjian meron akong mga A tsaka K at nakagamit na ako ng K Custom, A Custom, FX, Z Custom, Planet Z tsaka ZBT-plus (either sa kit ko mismo, or sa kaibigan ko, or sinubukan ko sa JB); sa Sabian nakagamit na ako ng B8, B8Pro, AAX tsaka AA at meron akong Hand Hammered at baka bumili ako soon ng HHX; sa Paiste meron akong Alpha at nasubukan ko na ang Sig, 2002 at yung mga mababang line nila.

Just a reminder to the readers and prospecting cymbals takers, to each is his own liking when it comes to cymbal sound. The very best advice we could apply is to hear the cymbal you intend for your self and let you be the judge of it.

Whatever other people say can be or not be the same for you. It may be a taxing process to find your sound but when you do, it is worth it.

maybe its because its not available locally, or only few drummers was able to try it, its hard to comment on something you werent really familiar or tested, i myself was only able to try istanbul during my trip to the namm show, and that short time of testing it is not enough for me to comment on this istanbul cymbals.

That is because very few people own/have tried Istanbul cymbals due to local availability. Fellow member Inigo of the Haneps is one that I could think of.

If all the brands were to be available locally it would have been a more accurate poll.

yeah i agree, it could have been a more accurate poll...it doesnt mean na dahil walang bumoto ng istanbul eh pangit yun istanbul..

I agree kay Sir Akira... pakinggan mo yung cymbal at piliin mo yung gusto mo, regardless ng brand. I guess yung mga post ko eh mas directed sa mga brand-loyal, to the point na sarado na yung utak. Lahat ng brand na yan, may astig kang makukuha kung subukan mo lang hanapin talaga. May advantages at disadvantages lang (tulad nga nung better consistency ng Sabian at Paiste, which means na kahit narinig mo lang tinugtog ng kung sino yung ideal sound mo eh madali mo na mahahanap) ang bawat brand, kaso there's no reason to just stick to one religiously (unless endorser ka nga).

As for Istanbul... pano magiging paboritong brand, eh wala naman niyan dito? Personally gusto ko marinig/masubukan yung Turk Ride, Traditional Pang, at marami pang iba, kaso walang chance talaga e. Sa kabilang dako naman, tignan mo yung Stagg - malakas kasi yung marketing push niya kaya siya nagkaka-following sa mga pinoy drummers.

to that said

ive been debating to what hihat ima buy soon for christmas

and ive decided nga to get a Sabian AAX stage hats or the AAX metal hats

i duno why but bagay sa music namin eh.. either of the 2 hihats maganda for our music na ginagwa namin..

even though i have z custom crashes/trash ride and some sabians and various zildjians i still think getting the sabian AAX hats would be a nice addition and would add a good feel to the music. and preference ko lng din..

so its Sabian and Zildjian for my vote. who said u cant have the best of both worlds right?
