Shoegazer? (Pakimove na lang po kung kailangan)
« on: October 12, 2007, 10:49:58 AM »

*whew

actually na-brand yung band namin as may pagka shoegazer so i've been doing some research about this as well

i don't really listen to shoegazer that much, but maybe you could try early Lush, Jesus and Mary Chain, Ride, Dinosaur Jr.  etc.

As for gear, I think that most of these guys use Jaguars and Jazzmasters  :-)
then modulation-heavy pedals like phasers, flangers, delays and chorus  :-)

yep. very heavy ang shoegazer influence niya. i love red sparowes' second album. i think it was very emotional.

sana suportahan natin moscow, music lovers around the world liked their music and they're about to release their debut album this december i think.

 :-D tama

New school shoegaze nowadays blurs the line with Dreampop.  They also place quite a premium on electronic beats and keyboards.  Back in the old days, almost any band that was on Creation Records was shoegaze before Oasis came into the fold.  Ride was perhaps my favorite out of all the shoegaze bands partly because they didn't go all-out with the effects and still managed to write poppy tunes.  I can say the same for the Brad Laner's criminally underrated band Medicine.

Here are some new-school shoegaze bands/artists.  You can do a search on Myspace to check out their music:

The High Violets
M83
Dykehouse
Ulrich Schnauss
The Turn-Ons
Voyager One
Hartfield (highly recommended--they sing exclusively in Japanese)
Asobi Sexsu
Longwave

I'm still waiting on our very own Sonnett LVIII to release their debut album.

Uy sonnett 58! yeah!  :-)
I checked out moscow olympics and i loved their stuff  :-D
Hartfield naman, I'm trying to look around the net where I can DL their stuff.

Ey, you guys wanna put up a shoegazer night every now and then? Game kami diyan! Although not all our songs are shoegazer-ish, I tend to use a lot of delay, phaser and reverb and I love that dreamy sound that kinda lulls the listeners :-D

Check nyo rin pala yung Maps tsaka Yume Bitsu.  Their brand of 'gaze music is also from the new school.
