Installing wheels and handle to a pedalboard
« on: November 01, 2007, 06:28:37 PM »
I have this pedalboard made by Mang Frank and it is awesome but heavy for me. Loaded, it weighs around 25-30lbs. So I was thinking of installing some wheels and a handle so that I can just roll it around like those rack cases.

Does anyone know how and/or who to contact for the installation of the wheels and handle? I've seen the Gator Gig Box but I don't wanna spend 9k for something that can be done for way cheaper.

Yan ang problema pag mabigat yung board. Yung sa pinagawa kong bagong padded case from Butch, there's no way for him to put wheels kasi wala syang experience sa paglagay nun so nagpalagay na lang ako ng extra handles.. Bayanihan na to!

If you regularly bring a car, you can also invest in buying a push cart/stroller not just for your pedalboard but also for your amp and guitar. The small, locally made carts in ACE Hardware cost around P1.9k-2.2k and the small Japan-made cart costs P3.6k. The bigger local and Japan-made carts cost around P4k and P7.2k, respectively.

I got the stroller idea from the great Nathan Manansala

Yeah but I don't have a car :D I was thinking of getting those wheels that AP sells for amplifiers. Would they work? But the handle thing is different. I got no ideas right now.

they will. considering you have to get angled aluminum thick enough to carry the whole board. - total cost, 800-1,200. best way to do it is get a stroller, bungee cors or toe cords(for cars/flat, beige) and use those. plug and play na. @ 168 mall, 400-500 per stroller. its tough enough for grade schoolers so im sure its gonna be tough enough for a 30lb pedal board.

hassle lang pag walang service elevator yung venue tas wala sa ground floor yung place. nababale-wala yung trolley. and now you have to make 2 trips up and/or down the stairs. unless kaya mo buhatin ng sabay yung amp and trolley. pero you'll be patting yourself on the back pag malayo napag park-an mo.

Some pedalboards available in the market are designed specifically to be portable in terms of weight only. I mean some people really want a huge pedal setup anyway. I read the Pedaltrain's light.
