ano ba to? eto ba yung kapag hindi validated windows mo? ganito kasi naga-appear sa log in window ko sa xp eh. help guys

thanks! pero hindi ko pa muna siguro gagawin yan. ano ba side effects nitong wga? kung ang role lang nito e yung istorbohin ka habang gumagamit ng windows.. ok lang siguro kahit di ko tanggalin. pero kung meron pang iba, ano kaya yun?

actually i dont know of any other side effects of wga than anti piracy.

This one I cant really confirm, since the poeple I encounter who actually get problems with WGA usually get it because of problems with SSL and secure connections, sometimes MSXML. and as far as I know it is Illegal to get PII (personaly identifiable information) without knowledge and consent from customers, if it does it should not contain any information that could track you down.

Agreed it is hard to confirm, but M$ has been insidious about sending info with their software. Office, in particular, has been a previous offender... this turned me over to Openoffice. I'd go linux but most of my progs require XP.

Experience ko lang sa Windows Live Onecare, I can access support log info kase, It only takes a snapshot of the Operating environments, like all the files loaded when windows starts, running programs and such installed and running services, nothing remotely close to example: LAN cards mac address.

if incase thats true that PIIs are collected MS can be sued cause its Illegal

illegal? but so is using illegal software. from MS perspective, if it would help me figure out who is stealing my stuff, i would use the data collection feature too. as far as I am concerned - and as far as the theft of merchandise like software goes - gathering that info is fair game as long as it is specified in the EULA that you prompt to activate the installation of the software.

That is in US courts, it may vary in different states, and varies depending on the available laws of different countries.

as far as i know laws have been passed here as well.

all countries have piracy laws...it all depends on how relaxed your government is of the citizens using pirated materials and disseminating them in public. from the looks of recent heists at LAX and balikbayan shipping services (via my local Pinoy news) - our laws homeside still haven't been beefed up as much as it should. hopefully, it'll be better in the future.

wag mo i-off. kasi meron ding security updates minsan na kelangan.

iset mo sa custom yung setting nung update para pwede mo piliin kung ano iinstall or hindi.

you wont be able to install the latest security patches without installing WGA, prerequisite yun ng later updates.

ayun nga. tulad nung sabi nung isa. there are cracks for xp and vista to be able to install updates. pero masama yun. hehe.
