3. If popularity and hit making ability is to be the criteria: Juan de la Cruz, The Dawn, and the Eraserheads would be considered in that stature. But if musicians respect is to be the gauge, i'd pick on The Juan de la cruz band, The jerks, the wuds..these guys are not really popular but they are still out there playing. Ask any true blue pinoy rock music listener, and chances are he knows these bands, and has probably in one way or the other listened to these bands music. if not, then he needs to relearn and discover pinoy rock more.

4. It's not in the image, it's in the music and the attitude. wearing long hair, earings and tattoos does not make you a rock and roll guy per se. it's the way you face and challenge the norms without fear.

5. Some I do, some I don't but it is definitely still pinoy music.

3. No. I think that "greatest bands" are subject to the listener's preference. given that, I would put also that Eraserheads are Pop-Rock, Juan de la Cruz is 60's rock, and that Razorback is blues rock...so mahirap din ang point of comparison. in terms of popularity in this forum, maybe they are.
4. That it is made by Pinoys. Any other definition becomes subjective.
5. Yes, of course - if they are really a rock band. Because, really, they are still Pinoy.
6. Yes, it does. to say that things were more real before, or will be more real in the future is again subjective. As long as the Pinoy band is playing rock music, then yes, they are the essence of Pinoy Rock.

1.Yep, sorta. When I was in high school there was this whole New Wave fad, much like the present-day Emo fad only less gayer. In college there was the whole Alternative boom(Eheads, Color It Red, The Youth, etc), resurgence of Pinoy Hard Rock(Wolfgang, Razorback, Sky Church, Rumblebelly etc.) & of course, who can forget the whole Rap-metal thing(Slapshock, Greyhoundz, etc). Nowadays it's about what bands can make the most pre-pubescent girls' panties wet & kids who dress up like they take it up the ass on a regular basis & love listening to whiney music.

2. Pinoy Rock strikes a chord in every Pinoy rock afficionado that no other form of Rock n' Roll can.

3. Why the fùck is Wolgang crossed out? They belong right up there with the legends.

4. They play rock with Filipino lyrics, don't they? Duh.
