I used to be in constant acquaintance with Manny Amador...

Anyway, my views:

FIRST ALBUM- "FREE"

1.  The Breed's first album, "Free" was awesome.  I wish Manny could have not used much of the room sound for the guitar recordings using his Carvin axe and Marshall 30th Anniversary half-cranked, but it was kick ass nevertheless.
2.  Harley A. did the drums in the 1st album.  Great drum sounds, great playing. It's Harley, what else?
3.  I think Charlie Y did a great job in the 1st album too.  Pretty much his best before he did the Papa (or UFC) ketchup ads.  :D
4.  John Besa did a great job of keeping the groove and supporting Manny A's wild runs.

Choice cuts:  Black Mercedes Benz, Apocalypse, Logan's Run Revisited, Free, Asar

My rating: 4/5

SECOND ALBUM - "AMUSING OURSELVES TO DEATH"

1.  This album had a very dark vibe.  Even the inlay card was kind of dark.  The inlay folds form a cross.  It was also Mike Turner's debut album with The Breed (and the only one AFAIK).
2.  Miguel Ortigas played drums on this album.  I'd say, the drums were ok.
3.  Songwriting-wise, I felt it had a very huge turn from Rock to the edge of Dark Metal with a Christian vibe.
4.  Charlie Y also had a tad more darkness to his performance.
5.  Mike Turner also infused a lot of dark chord-voicings...

My rating: 2.5/5

Choice cuts: Virtual Reality, Nightmare

To Manny "Mad dog" Amador, stop being a Linux geek and get back to Rawk. :D :D :D

I nearly spent 3000php on Amusing Ourselves To Death on eBay... But then, I found the recently released Revisited album and got that instead. Awesome band... Shame I missed out on their reunion gigs...
