Sulit.com.ph Hacked?
« on: November 07, 2008, 12:17:10 PM »
this is taken from phpugph.com by jryap

Top Philippine free classifieds ads site http://sulit.com.ph seems to
have been hacked as the web site has been unavailable since late last
night.  Sulit has an Alexa ranking of 2,469 which is good for 29th in
the Philippines.  This is higher than more popular and prestigious
sites like NBA.com, Jobstreet.com, Ebay.Ph, Inquirer.net, PEP.Ph,
GMANews.TV, PinoyExchange.Com, PhilStar.com and TipidPC.com.

Site Founder Engr. Ronald John "RJ" David and his technical team are
still investigating the incident, but reassured their users that they
will quickly get the site back online.

Co-Founder and Head of Administration Arianne Rose delos Santos has
been on "call-center mode" since as the site's loyal patrons have been
flooding Sulit's every imaginable communication lines -- YM, email,
cellphone, and social network accounts in Friendster, Facebook, and
Multiply.

Rumors from some IT forums has Sulit's DNS entries being modified to
make the site look like an expired domain name.  But according to
Engr. David, their domain name is registered until 2010.

Pop quiz:  Was Sulit's DNS entries hacked?  Or were there lapses in
security by someone?  Did the Boogeyman strike?

Abangan…
