Ask lang ako kung ano magandang upgrades sa axe ko na
Washburn WI14. I really like to upgrade this guitar kasi first of all, sobrang basic ng setup nito. Single Cut, 4 Knobs, Double Humbuckers, small body, and maganda ang playability and action. Im more keen on upgrading the pickups though.
I got this guitar at a very reasonable price, entry level siya ng Idol Series ng Washburn kaya maganda siya i-upgrade for me - ganun naman talaga un eh, masusubok daw talaga ang customization skills mo pag "cheap" guitars ang ia-upgrade mo, parang sa kotse lang.
Btw, ganito exactly ung itsura ng guitar ko. Exactly as you see it, from the shape to its color.
Sound is very good especially pag naka dirty settings, nandun ung crunch na swak sakin from the HB's. Pag clean, ok din siya, though napansin ko, mahina stock pickups ng guitar na to. Malakas din ang feedback, kahit malayo ako sa amp, may feedback pa rin. Mga mid volume (I tried it on 10-watt Marshall and Vantage amps, 20-watt Yamaha amp, and 30-watt Fernando amp) pa lang nag-istart na siya mag gain ng feedback. I tried using high-end cables pero ma-feedback pa rin, so doon nako nag conclude sa sa pickups na cguro ung problem.
I'm also considering of covering the pickups. Hindi ko kasi type ung exposed pickups gaya ng nakikita niyo sa pic. Much better sana siya if covered siya, like ng sa mga les pauls.
Another question is, saan kaya ako puwede magpapalit ng pick-ups just in case?
