Tools to record live worship from mixer to laptop

Mga Sir, maki-join na lng din ako dito sa inquiry ha, since I have the same issue..

I want to try to record a demo of our songs from a mixer to my laptop... but I really lack the knowledge of what sofware and hardware connections to use.

Eto po ung magagamit ko if ever;

(1) Mackie Mixer - Mackie 1402 (14 Channels)

(2) Toshiba Laptop: (No Line-in ung laptop eh  )
          OS: Windows Vista
          Intel Core(TM) 2 Duo - P7350@2.00 GHz
          Memory 4.00 GB RAM
          Sytem type 32 bit- operating system
          Sound, Video and Gaming controller:
                 Cohexant High Definition Smart Audio 221

Need help on the following:

(1) CONNECTION from the mixer to the laptop? (Ok na ba ung UCA 200 or UCA 202?) walang line-in ung laptop kse...

(2) Any one who can suggest what SOFTWARE is preferred?
     San maka-avail?
     or can it be downloaded free?

PRAISE GOD! Soccess na live recording namin sa church. Yes grounded nga po yung isang mic namin. kaya pinalitan namin. at wala na yung ground noise. Then malinis na din yung recording kasi nagpalit ako ng mas magandang sound card. Creative Audigy with 24bit / 96000Khz. For me ok na po ito sa ngayon.

Salamat po sa mga nakatulong. Now its time for me to help.

Sir mike, saktong sakto specs ng laptop mo for recording. Pwedeng pwede na ang Behringer 200 series dyan. Pero kung my PCMCIA laptop mo. Pwede mong gamitin yung  Sound Blaster X-Fi Notebook kasi may 24bit crystalizer at 96000Khz. Yung ordinary sound card kasi at Behringer 202/200 ay my 16Bit/48000Khz lang.

Gaya ng sabi ng mga bossing natin. Masmataas na bit at Khz mas maganda. Bale from mixer line outs (recording/monitor out/headphone) connect mo dun tapos plug mo sa line-in ng sound card or line-in ng Behringer.

Software naman...may na download ako sa torret site na Audacity at Reaper na may crack. wag kang gagamit ng trial or free version. Para sa akin panalo ang Reaper sa editing at multi-track recording compare sa iba ko pang na-download na softwares. Madali pang gamitin.

At kailangan nyo ng Sound tech na sensitive sa tugtugan. Para balance recording nyo from mixer.

Thank You! Sir redjastin, nakakuha ako ng AUDACITY and MIXCRAFT 4 sa torrent. Pag-aralan ko pa muna ung applications... 

Sir, im not familiar sa PCMCIA? sori po medyo [chewbacca] lang ng konti sa pc/laptop hardwares.. hehehe.. if higher bit and KHz were suggested by our masters, then, I would go for the higher specs... 

Need help lang po ng konti ulit about sa sound card...

We don't tolerate the use of cracked software in these forums. Audacity is already freeware so there's no need to download a crack of it. Reaper will run even past the evaluation period, but seriously, you would be wise to support the developers and buy a license. The same goes for other software out there. That's why I bought my Sonar.

Sir, where can I avail the licensed sofware? I'm OK to purchase the licensed one myself. Does Audiophile, JB, etc. offer/sell these items as well?

try jbmusic i think may mga binebenta silang software and sound cards for recording..

Yup meron nga sa JBmusic (Trinoma). Kaya lang pang professional recording na yun. Maraming line-in. At di pang laptop yung nakita ko. Card with 8 line-in yata yun. Magtry ka rin baka merong pang laptop.

Kasi kung ako ang tatanungin di kakayanin ng church namin yun. Dinadala ko nga lang PC ko sa church para makapagrecord lang kami dahil walang line-in laptop namin sa church at wala ding pambili ng Behringer.
