Apart from what Rey had said, the following below are also essentials.

Monitor Speakers

http://www.krksys.com/product_vxt.php
http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_us/StudiophileAV40.html

Headphones, so you can record voice/instruments while playing along other  already recorded tracks. Closed type headphones are better for this purpose.  :-)

broadcast quality = malinis.

I don't want to start my own thread so might as well ask here.

I want to record electric guitar and bass at home and I want a mic'd amp set-up. Can you guys tell me what's the difference between condenser mics?
And also the difference if I use a condenser mic (I'm inkling toward the Samson C03 or Audio Technica AT2020) and a dynamic instrument mic (say a Shure SM57)? What do you guys recommend?
I'll be using a Fender Dual Showman Reverb Tube Amp for guitars and an Orange amp for bass.
Thanks. :-)

kung gusto mo ng mas technilcal na explanation, hintayin mo nalang magreply ung iba.. hehehehe. i just hope this helps.

kasi condensers are composed of PLATES... kaya mas sensitive sa pressure and air...

GASsing for a SM57!

Does this sound like static? You could be overloading your interface's analog inputs. No amount of tweaking with software gain will solve that problem. You have to reduce volume at the source.

Yeah. I just read (from one of your magazines) that there's this guitarist actually uses a 10dB pad after his SM57's. :D
