A new operating system from Windows.
Ang bilis! Laos na ang Vista?

I think that for every new Microsoft OS, as musicians, our primary concern would be more on the compatibility of our existing audio-interface hardware with the upcoming OS and the availability of drivers from the manufacturer for the new OS.

And I think that audio-interface hardware manufacturers as well as VST software manufacturers should start making more 64-bit compatible drivers too for a less troublesome transition from one OS to the next.

Casio Privia PX-320, Samson Graphite 49 MIDI Controller, E-mu XMidi 2x2 ports, Proteus X software soundmodule, Pianoteq v. 4.5, AMD Phenom II x4-based DAW, M-Audio Audiophile 2496 card

There are already reports in other music forums (i.e. "fora"?) that say some Vista x64 drivers of audio-interface hardwares aren't working in Windows 7. And some are reporting incompatibility of existing VST and FX plug-ins that were previously working in Vista (32/64).

Perhaps its best to wait til new drivers and VST/FX plug-ins come out which are compatible with Windows 7...or wait til Windows 7 become "mature" in terms of stability, reliability, functionality and compatibility...

Here's to hoping Windows 7 won't suffer the same fate that Vista did...no system hog OS please.

I agree on this.

got to test one. yung official release na galing sa microsoft.(orgmate ko kasi student partner so pang beta testing) compared to vista mas maganda siya visually. also ndi siya hog sa resources. a lot faster than vista. isipin niyo yung laptop na gamit built for windows xp. ndi kaya ang vista pero kayang kaya ang windows 7. marami ring mga features na magaganda and since student partner nga orgmate ko, dinemo niya yung ibang features. cant wait to upgrade to windows 7.

imo vista is much more stable than xp and most worms, trojans and other malware would not easily penetrate vista. (even without an antivirus and justr using the default windows defender and UAC)

just make sure you do have the hardware to give Vista room to breathe. kung harware mo 1gb ram tapos p4 wala ka karapatan mag reklamo na panget vista.

been using vista ultimate 64 for a year na so far mas maganda. lalo na sa games kasi dx10 na.

about windows 7 parang vista din naman eh na try ko sa laptop nang classmate ko kaso driver issues ang nakikita kong set-back dito. so stay away muna tayo jan.  :-D
