sa lahat ng fans ni Janis, check nyo yun group na Cold Blood (specially yun first four albums nila)...hanep yun vocalist nilang si Lydia Pense, she was one time considered a threat sa throne ni Janis (though tunog ng Cold Blood is more nasa linya ng Tower of Power), meron pa mga episodes that Janis was insecure with Lydia na muntik sila magaway, hinde combative yun personality ni Lydia Pense kaya di na develop any feud between the two of them that they eventually became friends til Janis Joplin passed away

yeah Janis Died because of drugs that they call it Chinese Heroin in France if im not mistaken

As a kid growing up at the time of the Vietnam war, I remember my uncle had this "hubo't hubad" picture on the wall (looked artistic though) of an innocent looking girl named Janis Joplin.  Don't know if Joplin had that picture taken with a lucid mind or one fried to the brink, but the pic looked serene and innocent.  Not knowing any better, I thought she was a porn star.

A few years later after going through my uncle's stash of vinyl from that era, only then did I realize that that "porn star" was one heck of a blues singer.  Sayang.  I wish she had survived the sixties and her demons, just like characters from that time like Hendrix, Jim the Lizard King, and others.  I would have loved to hear more stuff from those souls from a more simpler time.
