I just mentioned time since I was thinking more of like rudiments lang like runs, etc. tipong foundational in developing left and right hand coordination and the skill.

But as I said, more on developing overall coordination coz when we've got that nailed down, everything else like playing solos, rhythms, learning new songs, etc would be much easier. Sorry I guess my initial question was too broad. hehe :|

Be specific kumbaga.

Saves you a lot of time.

that's how i practiced 18 years ago (back then it was tape or phonograph).... i try to learn a song note for note then pag kuha ko na i improvise over it to my hearts content... and sure is serving my playing years after that... until now

now i don't really practice unless i hear a new song in my head.... i do noodle around if i have spare time....

what i did was try to absorb everything i could in the 1st 4 years of my formative then just dropped everything and play by instinct. a more subconscious playing approach works for me keeps me fresh. after all 4 years of heavy practice should sink in to your subconscious mind and muscle memory.

the only time (or times) that i set regular practice drills is when im trying to learn new things or not gigging or jamming for a month or two, otherwise i do more air guitar while sound tripping than actual drills :-D, gigging is what keeps me at my best shape

that's how i keep it fresh

bago pumasok sa work practice muna mga 20 mins, then sa work may 2 acoustic guitar na pwede gamitin for practice at kulitan, kaso puro pang piesa ng variety band kailangan practisin, hirap mag hanap ng time for practice ng gusto mo talaga na piesa. :-)

I go play 10 songs every weekend

in my repertoire I only have 100 songs (songs that I learned throughout 7 years of playing haha)

I end up playing those songs over and over again haha

hirap na akong magpractice nowadays, hindi gaya nuong binata pa ako, i'd play guitar when i get home from work (around 8pm) then noodle until around 2pm. Now that i'm married, any time i pick up my guitar i feel guilty because it's time spent away from my wife (nlabo no? eh nasa iisang bahay lang naman kami). In any case, swerte na pag naka-isang oras ako with the guitar.. so for me, structured practice is very important. MWF for drills and runs (just to keep my fingers in shape), tuesdays and thursday just for dicking around, coming up with ideas for songs and stuff.. wala na akong sipag mag-aral ng theory.  :|

Usually i dedicate saturdays and sundays para sa practice. Pagka tapos kumain ng lunch, i'll get my guitar ready alongside with the mp4 na binili ko sa Avenida. May mga naka-store na backing tracks. Then i'll try to construct melodies sasabayan ko mga backing tracks.
