Sir, difference between Core 2 Duo and Dual Core is *I think* the fabrication process and the fsb.

Core 2 Duo is more recent than Dual Core pero may mga lumalabas parin na models ng Dual Core, albeit on lower end processors like Celeron.

Mga mas may alam po, paki correct nalang ako. xD

If you don't mind going AMD, I would suggest an Athlon II with an AM3 board if ever you want to still upgrade your processor to a Phenom II. Anyways, I haven't looked up much of the current items to date so I can't give a full spec recommendation, sorry. Dx

if you're really on a tight budget I say make a system that has an AMD processor.

You can spend the money you saved on a larger RAM or better GPU. :)

I've been using an AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800+ for gaming and it runs game well.

AMD setup FTW!!!

Dual-core is a draft of Core2Duo (kasi lumabas agad yung Athlonx2/Phenomx2 from AMD so para hindi maiwan sa market, nilabas ng Intel prematurely yung dual core product nila.) Masmaganda Core2Duo pero masmahal. Kaya no other option than an AMD gaming rig FTW. i'm not a fanboy but just being practical considering your budget.

For 20k budget, get Emaxx AMD785G-FXN motherboard which supports both ddr2/ddr3 and AM2+/AM3 socket (Wala sa intel nang ganyan kaya AMD is considered much more easy to upgrade than Intel platforms). Very good for upgrade/transition from ddr2/AM2+ to ddr3/AM3 combination. It also has built-in graphics (Radeon HD4200) which is good if mashort ka sa budget sa graphic cards mo( Good graphic cards are 4k above(2nd hand)). Tpos next step mo pag-ipunan is to get a branded PSU dahil ito ang magdidictate ng limit ng rig mo. Get a 600w or better PSU for future expansion.
