MODULE 1: The Nature of Sound
Know about the characteristics and physics of the sound energy: wavelengths, frequencies, velocity, diffractions, reflections, refractions, loudness, etc.
MODULE 2: The Decibel and Ohms Law
Know about Sound levels and its measurements, definitions and applications of Ohms Law: understanding resistance, current, power, etc.
MODULE 3: The Audio Chain and Its Components
Learn the Signal flow, from the source to the output; the individual components in the Audio Chain, from microphones to the various electronics and to the speakers.
MODULE 4: Sound Reinforcement Technology
Systematic approach in designing sound systems including calculations of gain levels for outdoor and indoor sound systems. Students are encouraged to bring scientific calculators or their laptops.
