Dude I own one and my comment is..

1) high pitch kasi ang JJ snare which hindi pwepwede sa ibang tugtugan like jazz for example.
2) Madali "DAW" mawala sa tono.
3) Baka nagsawa na sila sa JJ and since steel si JJ.. Gusto nila mag wood.

anyhow.. for me.. I will keep my JJ kasi..

1) I still love the CRACK that it gives and since it's a 6.5" full body padin.
2) I sometimes use it as 2nd snare.  specially when my primary snare is maple.
3) JJ can be the primary snare and Mangini is the 2nd snare. (nice combo to).
4) Looks good dude!!! hehehe...
5) Ang ganda ng rim shot nito kahit hindi sya diecast.
6) No trouble sa overtones.. I never did experience trouble sa overtones nito kasi dahil baka BATAK yung head or 13" sya.. either way.. no overtones..

about the "NAWAWALA SA TONO". I still don't believe this.. Kasi panoorin mo yung concert ng slipknot.. never naman nag palit ng snare during the whole concert si JJ. baka mali lang ang palo nung nag sabi na NAWAWALA SA TONO SI JJ..

For what its worth... JJ snare is definitely for keeps...  yung mga nagpapakawala ng JJ snare dyan na mura... I suggest kunin nyo na yun... mura yun eh..

It's unlike the Chad Smith snare... yun ang walang kwenta hahaha... si Chad mismo hindi nya ginagamit yun eh! hehehe..

LASTLY, madami kasi tayong Drummer brothers na naghahanap ng snare na HYBRID.. meaning... kahit anong tugtugan eh pwepwede yung snare.. mostlikely it's because of financial limitation... well... I don't know...

Hope this helps..

Very Good explanation.

ok ang jj snare, have it for a year now... nakuha ko kay miguel kulot for 7k lang and has been use for a month and a half.. (thanks bro!) hehehe.. grabe talaga yung depth tsaka crack.. sonic limitation nun cguro kung jazz tugtugan mo.. pero sa ibang genre for pop to metal.. panalo talaga and its bang for a buck.. reason why madami nagbebenta? kasi... hindi na siya uso.. honestly, majority ng mga friends natin eh may pagka fashionista pag dating sa gamit.. good for them that they have the money to shell out to buy new items... feeling ko pag lumabas yung PULA na version magbibilihan na naman sila nun.... hehehe... yung isang dream snare ko yung omar hakim series.. para pang RNB to HIPHOP ko.. mahogany wood..  pero may nagsabi sa akin pag malakas palo mo nag cho choke daw yung tunog.. hehehe.. let us see..

ako... I'm letting mine go since kasi i don't like the piccolo sound of it. Plus mabilis lumuwang yung tension rods. We play rock and I think that a fatter tone is more appropriate. I've been using this drum for 2 years and i love it kaso it's time to move on to look for that sound that fits the band. Mahirap din magmaintain ng 13 inch eh, medyo mahirap replacement parts. I'm planning to get a Mapex Black Panther Machete or Blade snare drum.
