I saw Hiram live ( sessioned w/ david sanborn ) @ the seven stars jazzfest. Awesome chops, great showmanship ( running around the Queen Elizabeth Stadium, went up the bleachers, House spkrs... )
his strat was loaded w/ twin PAF humbs :-D

got to talk w/ him after the concert... big dude, so funny, & he's a dead ringer ( pun not intended ) for bill cosby :-D  but it was terry lyn carrington w/c i wuz really mesmerized  8-)

Great guitar player all but I don't think they are underrated. They were given extensive media coverage during their heydays and numerous product endorsements. Although Randy Rhoads did not live long enough to be determined if he is rated highly or not. Nevertheless after his death the media cannot get enough of him. He is still revered to this day.
