bro kung practice amp, basically 20 watts or below yung normal mong ginagamit, the only noticable difference will be
output level or brightness. the minor pleasures of changing pickups comes out when you play on bigger amps or when you play clean on those smaller amps. so remember, wag mo muna idefine yung "gusto mong tone" based on your practice equipment. kasi magugulat ka nalang iiba sobra yung tunog when you play on different kinds of amps. suggestion ko sayo bro is really to find mga kaibigan or pag makapunta ka sa music store, to try mga guitars na naka iba't ibang pickups na, you try them yourself. but remember, a lot of your "tone" comes from the way you press on the notes and the way you pick them. your pickups only act as another "effects/eq" to the true tone of your fretting and picking.
another piece of advice would be ano ba gusto mo sa pickups mo, kasi some pickups sound great when played note per note but are muddier when you play chords (notes end up "blending").
ako duncan user ako,
JB - very balanced and bright (extremely versatile and one of my favorites)
59 neck - vintage style sound just hot rodded (di ko mashado nagagamit)
TB-5 bridge - higher treble and mids, more "metally" than the JB
Jazz neck - incredible clarity (highly recommended for playing fast runs with mild distortion and when your notes are fat para hindi muddy).
dimarzio tone zone - very fat, pretty nice too
go out and try any pickup you see on any guitar! try try try!
