If you use an original L-36 (new model is EL-36) or a JE-36, it performs better than the Sub-Zero.  and is lighter, compact & more efficient.

i believe mix/matching of different subwoofers are not recommended by the pros, they say there would be phase/time issues specially if youre using hornloaded subs. if you have a driverack or any speaker processor maybe you can go 4 way and split the lows into 2 parts ie (sub - low)-mid-high. maybe the pros around the forum can explain this well medyo madaming technicality e

na try ko sir yan i have installed 4 per side subzero and and 8 units na el36 at the center, ok nman kailangan mo lang gumamit ng separate crossover for the subzero and the el36, hindi sila pwede magsama sa iisang crossover... makaiba ang tunog nila... sa open air disco ok ang subzero, sa live band nman i prefer the el36...

cancellation occurs mainly if the two enclosure designs are configured under one crossover frequency. they combine different enclosure designs thinking that the varying models are meant to produce the same behaviour. another event when cancellation happens is kung 'out of phased' ang mutiple speaker(cab) set-up mo. this is a common error for most systems today.  they don't check kung naka 'in-phase' ang set-up nla. they think more is better.  an 'in-phased' system of 2 per side of bass can outperform a 4 per side 'out of phased' set-up.

just think of it as " (+1 -1 = 0) where +1 is inphase, -1 as out of phase

but there are some subwoofer design (cardiod subs) that uses this out of phase technology to maximize their effeciency but it would require complicated settings on the processors or they have their own dedicated one, i think meyer, nexo and l'acoustics has this

I'm using EL-36 for 6 years. wala ako masabi. sub-zero walang rattle or shake. puro punch lang unlike EL-36 pwede sya mag punch and rattle, kaya nga yung JE-36 stands for "Junior Earthquake"
