Author Topic: DW 9000 or Axis Longboards? (Read 3929 times)

Hi friends,

I'm planning to buy new double peds! Anong pipiliin niyo, yung DW 9000 (which is almost fully customizable) or yung legendary Axis AL-2 Longboards? I've used Pearl Elims for some time, tas nagdowngrade ako sa Gibraltar, and I can say maganda talaga yung Elims hehe.

So ang choices ko ay upgrade to either DW 9000 or Axis AL-2, or bili ulit ng Pearl Elims.

Any pedal would do good for you man, it depends on your musical genre.

IMHO I'd go for the elims, AXIS are on the top for me but if you're going to be an owner of it make sure na alagaan mo siya at sa USA pa ang parts nito. Unless you go to the USA from time to time or vacations

Axis are ideally for triggered kicks

Sa axis, nahihinaan ako sa power, kaya need din niya triggers, etc.

Sa dw9k naman, may nabasa kasi akong reviews dati comparing this, the IC, and elims, andami nang nkbasag ng footboard nito. kitang kita sa pics.

to be safe sa dalawang yan, siguro elims. pero kung kaya IC, yun na lang. Talagang heavy duty yung pagkakagawa and makukuha mo padin yung speed and power.

yung mga nabasang yung mga DW5000. i think yung mga lumang versions ng 5000.
wala pa akong nakitang pics ng DW9000 na nabasag.

i was a pearl elims user and i shifted to Axis LB's ... and i have to admit, it takes a hell lot more effort to make the axis loud, although without triggers, it cant be as loud as Pearl Elims.

be prepared to invest more months into getting reacquainted with the axis, its a far different pedal than the elims.

as for DW's, my only experience was with 7000's ... and i liked the elims better.

all in all, elims is the most user friendly pedal... its just, i think that i could go faster with axis than i ever would be with elims.

if you really wanna go "Nile fast" with a lot of practice, i recommend Axis...

if you wanna go just in the "slipknot fast" level, i suggest you stick with elims.

i think tranquildomain knows what he's talking about re: axis needing some maintenance. and i agree with re: the axis being ideally paired with triggers.

i like the footboard of the eliminator but that's it. mas smooth kasi. but i still prefer my IC over it. my pick goes to the dw9000 because i'm thinking it has a feel similar to the IC but maybe faster? i dunno.

Never tried ICs. Pero ang nabasa ko naman kasi sa Elims, makukuha mo yung feel ng IC na Power Glide o kaya Rolling Glide depende lang sa setting or cam na gamitin mo. Hindi ba massulit ang Elims lalabas?
Nakita ko na rin yung Demon Drive, pero parang exag naman hahaha.

i've tried elims and IC. elims is ok! magaan sa paa and loud nga.. pero mas gusto ko ung punch ng IC and ung feel nya... but still im shifting to axis.

kung ako papipiliin! sa axis ako! ang gaan! naka try naku nun sa music shop d2. kaso.. napaubo ako sa price nung A series ata yun,presyong 2 pedal na.. tinitigan ko na lang. ehehehehe...
i own a dw9000 maganda sya tingnan.... kaso nabibigatan ako! siguro kasi nasanay paa ko sa murang pedal lang... tsaka.. bokalista talaga ako eh di naman ako drummer! eheheehe...

IC = almost 20k, if power glide wala pa kasamang cobra coil yun. C.Coil sells for 890php each. If rolling glide may kasama na yun na c.coils. Same price as power glide almost 20k. Elims hindi ko alam ang price. Hehe.

i own a DW5000 pero so far d pa naman nababasag ung foot board. hmm parehong maganda hehe kaya mahirap mamili. Pero I agree dun sa mga nag sabi about axis na mejo kulang sa power unlike DW9000 na may power pero mejo heavy. I guess pag speed guy ka axis na.

.. axis na lang po .. maganda yung elims solid yung feel pero mas precise po kasi pag axis .. di ako masyadong fan ng dw
