I don't care for the guitar part of the game too much, yung drums talaga ang benta dyan eh :D
yeah, its the "closest" thing to a real instrument experience the game has out of the box.
playing the guitar parts in Rock Band though helped me loosen up my fretting hand though, can't say for others but it did help in practice. It's not the same as fretting real strings, but I'm talking more of loosening up the fingers, coordinating the picking and fretting hands.

there are some songs anyway which are easier played on a real guitar than in Rock Band tho XD

i would still go and play the real instrument..than pressing those buttons..instead of playing that game,i'll spend more time in practicing the real thing..playing GH or Rockband wouldn't help you to reach your dreams..

kung guitar controller lang pinag uusapan then yeah, it's a waste of your valuable practice time, the drums on the other hand are a different story

Parang does Counter Strike make you better at firing guns.

sole purpose ng military when they made the shooting simulation games would be to enable the soldier to get a feel for firing thier guns at supposed "enemies"

coordinating teamwork and to have them desensitized (so they would not have issues with killing people)

i suck at guitar hero to be honest
and it doesnt help with my guitar playing at all

:)

i've been playing percussion freaks though since it started

it simulates a drum set since it is technically a digital drum kit :)

@TS:

IMHO playing Guitar Hero wont improve your actual playing..
but others will say it will practice your picking hand well, ryhthm and timing

Playing Drum Hero, IMO will somehow allows you to practice some drum rolls, as
well as the rhythm and timing..

Playing Rockband as whole, was designed for entertainment, familiarizing with
different music styles and artists..

In Conlusion:
To improve your actual playing skills practice with a true instrument..
