You can also try thinner. Like Laquer Thinner.

i asked a luthier if i can use thinner. masyado daw matapang yun. worst, kung mapatakan ang finish ng body baka magkaron din ng effect sa paint finish.

he recommended lighter fluid as contact cleaner.

bili ka ng McKenic contact cleaner. kasing presyo lang ata ng malaking WD40, mas marami pa. :D
yun ginamit ko sa mga pots ng gitara ko saka effects. as for switches, bumibili na lang ako ng bago. meron sa isang forum member, meron din sa epektos site.

That's what I tried first. The next day maganit na uli ang switch.

That's what you use if your switch is dirty.
