from electric guitar to bass guitar convertion

i have a friend planning to convert his old strat body and build it into a P-bass, pwde ba yun? changing only the neck and the assembly magiging bass na. im not sure about this pero siyempre nakakatawa gagastos ng malaki instead of restoring the guitar then buy a new bass hehe

Oh good lordy ! Bumili na lang sya. Sayang lang gitara nya. The neck lengths are different, the fretting is different. I can say it's almost impossible except if you have a real big big big motive.

Tip na lang. If you want to use your guitar for bass, use a multi and bring out the Octaver function. You can even use something like the EHX microsynth and hit the sub-octave function on that and it can crank out a usable bass sound.

body lang ata natira sa strat niya pero siyempre lots of greens prin which is impractical. well maybe if matapos project niya malaman ko if ok yung ginawa niya haha.


may difference kaya kung body ng strat ang gagamitin in terms of tonality?

hindi proportional ang body ng strat tapos mahabang neck for bass parang badminton racket lang hahaha
saka meron bang strat pickguard na kasya ang bass pickup? magkasukat ba ang humbucker guitar pu sa bass pu?

pero i recommend na gamitin nalang yung strat pickups. some basses like the Fender MusicMaster had strat pickups under them.

yung bridge ang magiging problem, dapat may certain distance siya from the neck heel para ma intonate ng maayos yung gitara/bass.
