Di talaga magkakasya yan spanky. Parang EL84 ata yang sinasaksak nya. Dapat try nya 12ax7 lang :D.

Seriously now...I do think it's possible but I failed when I tried to squeeze in a 12ax7 tube into my TS7. Pwede pa din but it will entail
a. Not using a tube socket (major bugger)
b. cutting the tube leads then
c. Directly soldering the components to the tube leads. Or maybe not, there could be some other construction permutation.


 There came out whats known as subminiature (pencil) tubes, small enough to be directly soldered into a circuitboard and inserted into a pedal. They're rare, but can be had.

mr. bitoy. magandang araw din sa yo.  :) it's been a while since our bands have played together.. catch us at saguijo tonight, or at libis tomorrow kung ndi ka busy...

pwede ba kame sumingit sa 21? but i already have 2 other gigs with my other band.  :cry: if ever, that can play without me naman.. :)

ON TOPIC.. valveboy, tube driver, tonebone, v-twin... has anybody ever tried sticking a power amp tube in a pedal format? puro kase preamps eh.. I wonder what it would sound like...

Power amp tube in a pedal format?  I don't know but that would be an oxymoron- power plus a instrument level output.  I do need to see how a KT88 tube looks in a pedal:

I also made an attempt at it. Surprisingly, it worked. Starved plate design.







Warm ang tunog. I'm assembling two more for others(whew bagal ko I'm still wiring the tube socket with parts). Dami pa kasi ako load e. Pag malinis na table ko, isang araw lang to kung tutuusin.

This brings to mind the Mesa V-Twin preamp that cme out sometime in the late 90s. I think that one was AC-powered. But that one was friggin HUGE, at least physically.

The guy who purportedly does this mod also does an SD-1 Tube mod, placing a 12AX7 inside the battery compartment.



Medyo skeptical ako kung possible mag-integrate ng tubo sa circuit ng dalawa. Heck, I'm no ECE grad, pero from what limited info I know malaki ang difference ng voltage requirements ng solid state at tube circuits. Tsaka pano mai-integrate sa circuit mismo yung tubo?

wow..galing pare...ano yung decription ng tunog? ala fender o marshall?
i tested one kanina sa guitar center yung english muff'n..galing din, marshall preamp talaga yung sound..dalawang AY7 tubes yung gamit if i'm right... OT saan kaba naka bili ng DPDT switch mo?? kasi intermittent yung toggle switch ng tonebone kko...any advice? recommendations dyan sa pilipinas?
