My Cousin is opening a Restobar type businees soon..i would like to ask for your suggestion regarding sounds setup in a fine dining restaurant..

Here's description

a 150 sq/m "L" type area with glass windows, installed with wifi and sattelite tv.
bar area
conference area (convertible)
dining area
tech area

The owner want's a background music that will surround the whole area..speakers will be installed on walls using brackets.the owner is a bit minimalist he wants small but power full, clean sounding speakers.bass sounds is not a big topic..just the clarity of the sound.at the same time the restobar will have a session of "Acoustic Performance" once in a while not everyday..so,we also need a PA for Acoustic performance.the PA speaker's must not be large like a 1x15 because the ceiling is quite low..monitor's preferably must not be on floor.so,it must be a small type monitor. The performer area will be replaced with tables if there is no acoustic setup for the day..

Yesterday,we have jeff of audiophile festival manage to quote as some equipment's we might need.
here its is..

4pcs JBL control 25 speakers for the sorround.
1 Crown LPS 1500
2pcs Peavy 1x12 400watts powered speakers for PA system "hence this PA speaker will be also serve as the monitor for the performer"
beacuse the floor area is full with dining tables and chairs,so placing a monitor on the floor is not a good idea.
12 channel 6XLR Peavey mixer with EFX
4 Samson Q7 mics
4 Samson boom mic stands
8 Channel snake cable
cables,plugs,xlr,neutrik.

Amounting to 96k ++
Our budget is a bit tight but we like to purchase a nice brand name with a nice reputation sana..

i would like to ask our master's in pro audio if this setup is good enough for the restobar.you suggestions will be truly appreciated.

Many Thanks and more power!

Ano po yan sir may nag quote or canvas nyo? mejo alanganin po kayo sa speakers, kc yung Control 25 mahihirapan yan sa banda, kahit JBL yan maliit pa rin masyado, wala pa kayo EQ to cut some unwanted frequency, pano po pag may gumamit ng beatbox later-on or elect.drum pad, diba, yun naman pong monitor nyo di rin po kasi kagandahan, please don't be offend, pero makakakuha ka ng mas maayos na equipment sa bujet mo  :-)

quote ni jeff of audiophile..what do you have in mind sir?can you give me some brand names with specifications as well?thanks in advance.. :-)

ps. the jbl control 25 will only be used for background music, very low volume music..ipapasok din namin siya sa mixer para lumabas ang vocals/guitar ng performer sa 4pcs lbl control 25 surround, pero low volume lang para daw hindi mag-suffer speakers kasi mababa capacity.tia!

Try using or atleast searching for EV sxA 80("A'' forpowered, sx80- nonpowerd)

its considered loudspeaker, it can handle high spl (performer screems close to the mics)
we use it as back fill for our church and we do heavy music :-)

it hardly distort and for acoustic setting it will manage lows. but of course sub-woofer will do better in the low end.
ganda ng clarity..

I Even saw one sa loob ng Audiophile(i wont name the branch coz kalaban ng JBL ang EV).

If you want the sound to be distributed evenly around the resto, do a distributed system with 8 inch speakers with 70 volt systems, placed in the ceiling.  If you want a little bit more lows, place bigger speakers. This can take care of your bgm. Put a couple of LF or bass woofers in the ceiling also, or even just a good subwoofer in a corner in the resto to have some nice low frequency information.  For your acoustic performances, two powered 12" can do the job.  For added SPL, you can connect the distributed system to your mixer so there will be no articulation loss of consonants. Add another one or 2 10 incher powered as monitors.  It will be nice if you can have acoustic treatment for the room.  Treat the ceiling partially with acoustic tiles just to take care of the HF peaks.  Good luck.

The soundsystem is only 50%................
An operator with good ears is the other 50%

To many bars with nice soundsystem but a waiter or just "someone" who knows how to make a soldering are suddenly the soundtechnician.............

Not good for the bar and the band

My 50 (pro)cent  :-D

I did read somewhere that Sir Mike Pedero was giving a hands on for technician clinic?

+1 the usual case

Better invest in decent but not necessarily "branded" equipment and a good tech guy. It is always important to note that Return Of Investment is crucial in business. More expenditure = More Capital = longer ROI. Well, you guys know that. :)

Make sure the bands don't "rest to much at the bar" in your cousin's restobar.......
